Branden Myers was a 19 year old that was full of life. His passions included all animals, but he especially loved horses, cats, and chickens. And candy. He loved running and was an avid member of the track & cross country teams at Pinkerton Academy, as well as the swim team and the band. He loved children and was more like a big brother to his younger cousins.
Tragically, Branden's life was taken in a car accident on December 16. He had joined the Army Reserves and would have been leaving for boot camp in early January. As an only child, he was the center of his parents' world, and they are devastated.
Five days after his death, Pinkerton Academy dedicated their track meet to Branden. It was at this meet that Branden's father learned he had saved another boy's life the week before - but Branden never said a word about it. He visited elderly neighbors without mentioning it to anyone, mentored younger students, and the list goes on.
It is the hope of his friends and family that his legacy of kindness will live on through the Branden Myers Memorial Fund, which was established to help his family as well as to benefit Branden's passion of assisting animals.
